Chitrakoot Waterfall, India’s largest waterfall that rises from an altitude of 100 feet [100 m] and extends 150 feet [150 m] during the monsoon season, which is a small tribute to its outlying counterpart Niagara Falls. Niagara Falls jumps from a height of 176 meters and drops to 1.1 kms in both American Falls (323 meters) and Canadian Falls (792 meters) combined.

The Chitrakote falls in the state of Chattisgarh, are the most beautiful falls in the monsoon – June to Sept. As the river floods in the rains, these waterfalls located on the river Indravati get larger. The result is something which looks just like the Niagara Falls of Ontario, Canada.

Chitrakoot Falls is located near Jagadalpur, a small town in Chattisgarh. Regular road access is available from Jagadalpur to Chattisgarh.

In the north, in the province of Madhya Pardesh near Jabalpur, Bedaghat is the most beautiful valley in India. The Narmada River carries a beautiful scenery between the glittering marble mountains of Bedaghat. The river continues to flow into beautiful waterfalls called Dhaundar waterfall. There is also one less known gorge near Jabalpur called Nidan Ghat.

The Grand Canyon

To the south, in the state of Andhra Pradesh, we have another Grand Canyon called Gandikota gorge. The beauty of the rocks carved by the equally impressive river is a beautiful sight to see when strolling in Andhra Pradesh.

It may be short of tourist attractions, but the landscape of the islands is just as beautiful. The archipelago is oriented north-south between 72 ° -74 ° E. Overall, the Maldives-Lakshadweep-Chagos Archipelago comprises coral reefs and the widest atoll community in the Indian Ocean and the largest atoll system on earth.
